Well, here goes.

This is a first for me, so expect it to be a little rough for a while. I am trying to get in step with the times.

I have no special qualification for this task. But, that is the point. I run into real people every day that seem to have a clearer vision of right and wrong, a better sense of what is important, than many of the politicians, pundits, and talking heads that fill our news. I just want to help bring out that perspective.

I do admit to being a recovering politician, albeit a lowly county commissioner. Though I may have been involved in politics and government a bit more than the average Joe, I do feel much closer to him than to anyone of so-called importance.

I am a thankful American, Tennessean, and conservative. I am married to my high-school sweetheart and have three wonderful children. I'm between 40 and 50. Closer to 50. I own a small business and work lots of hours trying to make it work. Nothing special, except that God made us all a little special.

Enough biography.  

Future blogs here will be on whatever topics interest me, or anger me, and spark an idea or a comment that I think is worth sharing.

One thing I promise is that my thoughts will come from years of hard knocks, listening, learning, thinking, and from a good conservative upbringing. Thoughts most definitely from the right side of things. Hopefully not just politically right, but factually right. What good is it to blow off steam if you have to make it up, and cover it up? 

A perspective from a real every-day person is what I hope you will find. The goal is to be:
